This training is open to the public and is intended for individuals and families who are experiencing or are in recovery from opioid addiction. It will take place Thursday, June 30, 2016, 7:00-9:00 PM at the MetroWest Medical Center--Leonard Morse Hospital, Helm Auditorium, 2nd Floor (67 Union Street, Natick).
Participants will learn:
1.) How to reduce the risk of an overdose.
2.) How to recognize and respond to an overdose in order to save a life.
3.) How to access and administer intranasal Naloxone (also known as Narcan).
4.) What legal protections exist for individuals and families experiencing substance use disorders (Including: the rights of behavioral healthcare consumers; commitment laws in MA; the protections and limitations of the Good Samaritan Law; and information about the recent opioid bill that passed in Massachusetts).
